Where's the song ~~ "Don't let your daughters grow up to marry a Cowboy" ?

Life is tough! Requires hard physical work, long, long days of pain, dirt, and broken fingernails.
Days of frigid cold & scorching heat; through the dust & mud; daybreak into the darkness of nite~~
the heart & body becomes toughened & weathered replicating leather!
A forever constant factor for a real Cowboy's Wife is tons of sweat, oceans of tears and a constant 'drought' in the wallet!

IF she wants to spend anytime at all with her Cowboy, she must do as he does, you become partners!

Kick off your boots, grab a cup of coffee, sit back and envision yourself in my life!
... It really isn't that bad! There are many rewards to be had to make it a great lifestyle! ...

More than "ONE" horse...

....or it was! It is now dead in the water!
Take notice of the "seat"...
Yep! It's an old saddle.
This was a freebie from a local who wanted to get rid of it: no seat, no battery; too old. Hubby's been wanting a riding contraption...for keeping weeds and grasses down that he didn't have to feed that $Golden$ Hay to & to be able to have a little more green around. Ol Red worked great for 7 weeks....to the day. It just needed a jump start with the pickup, Hubby threw an old saddle on it's back & rode off into the wild green yonder! He was happy as lark, whistling Dixie!
Never seen him so happy about cutting grass (weeds) ...ever!
Unfortunately today, Ol Red decided it had been rode hard & put away wet just too many times! In protest, it blew out billows of black smoke, sputtered & spewed 1/2 way thru it's job.
Sensing it was on it's last legs & not wanting it hanging around the barnyard for aesthetics reasons......Hubby & Ol Red headed towards the "great hill", where beyond... it could lay in rest...out of sight! The starting of our first 'boneyard' !
Ol Red didn't want to go without a fight though, so it revved itself up, lounged forward like a young bronc...made it half way up the hill............and BANG!
Died an instant death! All within sight!
Since Ol Red was a freebie (except the $gas$ of course)...and it did Hubby some good while it lasted, the loss didn't warrant too many tears!
Doubt Hubby will be watering around the barnyard etc. any more though, like I said before...he's not into walking, that's what horses are for!
And that goes for being behind a push mower too!
(I mow my yard space & don't 'allow' him to, cuz I'm pretty picky!)

Well hon... I found my way over here through Lucy/Jenny.

I've read a lot of your posts and I can safely say I rarely have seen someone who "gets it" post about it like you do. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

I guess my only question is... do you have any single daughters left? :P

Why would that make you sorry? You don't approve of the husband? :P

Hi Prof! LOL! I'm not fond of "boneyards"..so hopefully not a golf cart...but, never know, it could be used for feeding in the winter, right?? Don't tell him! Did you make that "date" yet?
