...with feel good food!
First, you need to have a good friend who brings you a big box of apples!
From that point on? What else but have some fun! Wing it!
Dance the Hokey Pokey! ~~Sing at the top of your lungs~~
**You put your right foot in,You put your right foot out;
**You put your right foot in, And you shake it all about.
**You do the Hokey-Pokey, And you turn yourself around.
**That's what it's all about!
You cannot ruin the "Feel Good" that this is all about!
And if you live where we do, no one will notice that you've lost your marbles!
No one will be calling the Psych ward to have you hauled off!
Apple Pie is Just*Plain*Old*Fashioned "Feel Good Food" no matter what you do to it!
I bet you were thinking...looking at that awesome picture taken from my extravagant 8 year old $20 camera,
The best part of this fun day, dancing, singing, juggling and splatting apples where they lay, is when this "Feel Good Food" comes out from the oven almost an hour later, dripping with piping hot, sticky sweet goo...steaming with the aroma of baked apple goodness!
Ahhh-h-h-h-h what a Good Feeling!
Yea, I know, I still have to clean the floor from the splattered apples do my ineptness at juggling and I must clean the sticky sweet goo that is plastered inside the ovens bottom layer...
but what the heck...
There is always tomorrow!
Did I lick up the counter of all that yummy goo? Darned right I did!
... when it cooled off enough to not burn my tongue.
No sense in wasting any of the Good Feeling!
What apples are left in the box, will be turned into applesauce tomorrow; I can always turn applesauce into some other "Feel Good Food" later.

Man... that looks good enough to eat. ;)
I was going to ask how you kept it from cooking over with that many apples in it, but I read you didn't...
You must like cleaning stoves more than I do. :P
I feel an apple pie day coming up tomorrow - having a glut of apples and not knowing what to do with them every recipe helps. Glad I'm not the only one who likes a tart pie. Yours sure looks good in the pictures.
Barb, that vision has inspired me to follow suit and make an apple pie of my own this weekend.
I'm glad to see that you've found a way to make your heart happy! Pie always does it for me too - just don't forget the big scoop of french vanilla ice cream!
I can't make a pie crust to save my life...I am envious. Looks like one really good pie and you sound so happy.
Wow that looks wonderful! May I have a slice with my cuppa?
I'm so glad I dropped by, Barb.
Best wishes my dear friend, ((HuG))
Annie
Lol! I bet your pie is delicious, no need for the apples to be orderly. I suspect mine are orderly because OCD rears it's head sometimes. :)
Sooo glad you protected that pinkie! And yes, your "lid" holds some similarity to an Ingall's cap!
Ha ha! Looks yummy especially on this cold rainy day.
Save a piece for me will ya? Oooh I can smell it from here. Yummers.
Love how you're going with the flow...
Oh Wow, WOW. We are gonna kidnap you and bring you here to make us nummies like that! ;) And so you can see the Confederate Rose blooms too!!
I want that apple pie for my breakfast......like right now!! YUMMMMMMMMMIE!!!!!! Those apples look just lovely......how lucky you are to get fresh apples. We have had several apple trees in the past at different places where we lived....loved it when the trees went bonkers and we had apples coming out our ears!! I made pies, applesauce, applebutter, canned apple pie filling, apple this and apple that......I miss those days. My daughter and I are going to make caramel apples today to take to a Fall gathering this afternoon.....maybe I will take photos and post about it......Have a great day W.O.W. and go dance the hokey-pokey some more......I'm off to clean a house and now have the tune stuck in my head........hummm, humm, humm
Thank you for the sweet words you left in my comments.......I feel connected to you as well and I do KNOW what you are going through.....Love Ya.....=)
Can I come to your house? That pie looks divine! You always put a lovely spin on things. I can see you licking the counter tops clean. Ha! You are funny.
Apple pie makes everything better. :)
Well that did it . When I read your post it got me to wanting apples. So we rode to the Apple Barn and I got a big bag of winesaps . My hunny bunnie loves fried apples.Your apple pie looks yummy Barb.
Barb...... this was an evil post.... I have no room left on my hips for apple pie!!!! I think I gained 10 pounds dreaming about eating it!

You do make a beeuuuoootifull apple pie, it makes mine look so sad! One of these days................we're going to get together and eat one.
I am so please that you said you made a mess with that pie. The only thing I was thinking when I saw that heaping bowl of love juice was... if I did that I would be in the oven with an SOS pad if it didn't catch on fire! LOL. I don't like apple pie, but I like the smell of them cooking and I like to make them. *sigh* Sounds like you had a yummy day.
Hugs
Jenny
I'm on my way with the icecream!! Yum! I was already hungry! Now I am craving Apple Pie! That is the most Love-ly pie ever! You need to write a book, and a cookbook!! Now how bout sendin a little "love" this way!he he!
Just called in from Janice. That apple pie looks like the ones my grandma used to bake....!
That pie looks AMAZING and HUGE! I love honeycrisp apples. They are my favorite, but I have to admit that I wondered how good they would be in a pie. Good call on adding some lemon juice!
You sure do know how to have fun. I'd love to hang out in your kitchen watching you bake! Glad you kept your pinkie finger intact this time too.
Barb,
Now that's a whopper of an apple pie if I ever saw one! And it does look mighty delicious. Since a friend brought me two big bags of apples the other day as well, I think I will try to immitate your pie!
Happy eating, dear Barb. You and cowboy enjoy that pie. And apple sauce tastes mighty good served with some potato pancake!
Have a great Sunday.
Hugs and blessings,
Renie

Hi Barb :)
You know you can put foil on the bottom of the oven and you won't have to burn your tongue?? LOL
I know things are rough, so I understand the need for comfort food. I could go for some of that pie myself with the market the way it is... yikes!
(((hugs)))
rue
Oh and a hug from you would be better than any money paid gift ;)
Oops! I mean DADR of course ;)
That has got to honestly be the most yummy pie I have ever seen and I actually now want to make an apple pie!!! I love the pics too, btw - awesome job with that camera! The pics certainly rival mine with a much newer and more expensive one! Way to go!
So if I drive over now, will there be any pie or apple sauce left? :)
