...this past week, in a time warp!
it's become Monday....again!
Do you ever have those days, weeks, or months,
where your plans and intentions
where your plans and intentions
are bigger than reality?
My "list" of things needing done was overwhelming.
As it turns out, I hurried aimlessly, accomplishing nothing! Each item seemed a huge project of its own, an unwanted burden.

The more I thought about the "list"...scurrying about to achieve something, the less I did! I actually created more things to do by being so haphazard.
I will blame it on our Sons visit....Thursday.
I cleaned and baked and prepared his favorite foods.
Enthusiasm and anticipation was my driving force Monday through Wednesday.
And then he was gone...Friday.
I will blame my inabilities Saturday & Sunday to my sadness.
A selfish unknown as to when our next visit will be.
Here it is Monday again, our Son emailed this morning,
he'll be pulling into Fargo about the time I get this written.
He is full of excitement and nervousness about the huge new project in his life.
I just checked and my "list" is still intact!
No fairy came along in the night to scratch things off of it.
So with drudgery and diligence, I must tackle one thing at a time!
I must realize some productivity this week!

...AND, I must go 'visiting'! I don't know what's going on around the world!
I hope I haven't missed out on too much.
(if I have the energy after my battle with the List!)

Well... I did my part to keep you from being behind. I didn't update at all either. ;)
Don't listen to LL, HE NEVER updates! U've been missed. And I got two puppies. See What YOU missed? Oh and I posted my letter to Walmart about the inapproate panties for kids... See now you don't have to read my blog (THAT I EVEN TURNED THE PICTURES RIGHT SIDE UP on)
I'm sorry for the sadness you feel over your son's absence, but I'm glad you had a chance to visit with him. The list will wait. Time with your son is more important.
You know, the list can always wait- as I well know- I just found my to-do list from 2 weeks ago- *ahem!*. I'm so glad you had time to visit with your Son before he headed for parts out "east." And being sad is all part of it- we can miss our sons together.
I missed you and glad you're well! And back! I think the list should wait a little every day so you can post for us! :)
LL~ You always do your part! ;)
Jenny~Of course I still have to visit and see what's cookin'
Terri~I know lists can wait...and spending those few hours with Son definetly outweighed the list's priorities!
Prof~Sucks having our Son's East of us doesn't it! I'm just glad he stays in touch so well. I agree...the list should only be whittled a tad each day...so I can come to this world! :) Besides, there truly is no end to a list, it's always added to!
A list? I have so much to do and not even enough time to make a list to make sure I do it all...does that make sense? I guess I could go on and tell ya everything I need to do, then I'd have my list...LOL
Sorry about your son, I sincerely know the feeling, three times over. I've two in PA and one in GA. Not to mention the 10 grandbabies that are growing up NOT before my eyes, without their Mimi and another one due this November.
Can't we squeeze the world together just a little closer?
Nice to have them visit, do you find your relationship changed from just parent to parent/friend? I know my relationships with my parents changed when I moved from home and I gained even more from it - seeing life through their eyes as well as mine.
Be at peace, he is only a voice call away and the list, well the list will be there until the end of eternity.
{{hugs}}
Hi Barb,
Oh, I have days like that as well. They are overwhelming, to be sure.
I have one son and a daughter that live 700 miles away, and I do wish they were closer. But we are together in spirit, and when they come to visit, it's heavenly. My younger son lives closer, and I get to see him regularly, thank goodness. He is also my lawn man, gutter cleaner, and more! lol.
Glad you're back. I've had a busy and fun weekend, and hopefully, can get a new post up this week.
Have a good week!
Hugs,
Renie
Hey friend! I missed you, I was getting ready to send out the cabana bo...I mean the posse!!
I am happy to hear you had a nice visit with your son! You should have made him do some chore! You know so he would remember all the "fond memories" of doing them as a child! he! he!
I am sorry your heart has an empty spot! It is good that he takes the time to visit. So many people get too busy and forget how important it is to take the time to visit! We have been saying we are going to visit my husbands grandfather for the last year, ok...two years! We just need to TAKE the time to go. Big warm hug sent your way my friend!((@))
Argh the dreaded "list"!!
PK~my List is in my head, think that's why it never ends!
Like SAGE says-there for eternity! And yes, SAGE the relationship is different. This past year esp, for me, I've gotten to see? to respect? to understand?to admire? both Son & Daughter in a different perspective. Diff than 5 yrs ago and even 10 years ago.
Renie~can I borrow your younger son ;) ?? Next weekend would be good!
Yep, now Son is approx 1400 mi away & daughter is close to the same, diff direction
MsTW~I DID tell him he couldn't go til the chores were done!!
**Think I lost my clout or he knows he can outrun me;) or that I'm not as mean as I once was & won't count to 3 or else??
Hi Barb!
I went away to find out you're back :)
I'm sorry your son had to leave again and I hope that list goes by quickly!
hugs,
DADR rue :)
Its nice that you had some time with your son, even if brief. Its not selfish to be sad that he's gone again.
