...and I'm not ready, willing, or able!
BUT...I'll buck up and face my demons!
This week I'm faced with TWO jobs.
At my paying job, I must start training yet another gal!
I've had to train TWO already in a short (?) nine months and that was after
I had barely begun to learn the feedlot business myself!
It's exhausting trying to teach a non-agricultural person the bare bone basics of cattle
so that they can comprehend even the tiniest of reasons of why their job requires accuracy,
attention to detail and timing!
Oh well...having TWO jobs for the price of one seems to be my agenda.
*
Now...if you know me, you know there is more to this story of the Terrible TWOs!

As for my Non-paying job??
~
Cowboy...loses his TWO hands on Wednesday for TWO weeks.
After much a-do and years of excruciating pain
( and because I'm paying a fortune for him to be covered with insurance at my job),
we decided it was time to see if he can be put back into good working condition
or if it was time to discard him to the Old Cowboy Wrecking Yard.
He went to TWO doctors, with more than TWO issues.
Both agreed he was old and rusty and broken down,
but there is hope that he can be reconditioned into a working Cowboy,
however never to be fully restored.
No, these "fixes" require more than duct tape and baling twine,
the only TWO items ever found in our first aid kit.
The neurologist said in his 30 years of practice, he's never seen this much damage,
with carpel tunnel progressing up to the elbow with so much nerve fraying and damage.
Let alone in TWO hands!
"How come you let it get to this point?"
The surgeon says "Do you realize, if you had ignored this and let it go much longer,
within 5 years, you'd have NO use of your hands!"
"You wouldn't even be able to hold a pencil!"
"How come you let it get to this point?"
Cowboy says to the TWO doctors...
"SURVIVAL!"
So, in this restoration process, we can only hope his knees hold out long enough!
(I know some of you have asked, since March '09 and that is another post in itself)
The next visit with the neurologist, will be to assess and decide how to proceed with the effects of nerve damage as it has "fingered" into his back resulting from the 'compensation factor'.
Cowboy says no matter what...there will be NO surgeries on his back!!
Just fix my knees!!
They will get to those TWO extremities~ the TWO doctors proclaim.
But the restoration process cannot happen all at once.
We cannot afford that!
Nor can this W.O.W.!
~
I'll be changing my name to D.O.W.
(Dumb Ol' Woman...Dead Ol' Wife)
soon enough!!
~
Hey, I'm tough as a tiger (ha!) and I can handle most things that are tossed at me.
I can hold down the fort. I can be TWO people.
The TWO jobs, the animals, the feeding, cleaning, bandaging, etc. etc.
but there is one thing in this TWO stepping, TWO timing life I'm faced with
that I am NOT ready, willing or able to do!

Holy cows! It's no wonder you're hardly ever around anymore ! And now on top of everything else, you're gonna be doin' *s* duty?
Fire up those sprinklers, gal! Or install a bidet... ;)
LOL I don't blame you one tiny bit there WoW!! You make sure though, to take care of YOU as well!! ;)
And Cowboy, Heal Up QUICK!!
Don't overdo it yourself, or there will be no one available to do that wiping. And cold water washing is really only good for laundry.
Hope that he heals quickly, and things perk up for both of you.

Yikes, yikes and yikes.......you have been going through some stuff. Wishing you all the very best from here.....don't be a stranger.
Well you really are running at maximum rev! Hope the new girl works out and lightens your load. And I'll include your Cowboy in my prayers, for a successful operation and speedy recovery. And you might want to check out bidets; I hear they are coming back in style! Can you get any type of home care for him with your health insurance? You might have to get him sweat pants too, jeans won't be an option with both hands not working.
Oh my goodness. You are one busy Cowboy's wife these days. Sure hope Cowboy has a quick recovery and that you are able to take care of yourself as well during this time of caring for him. Keep us posted.
WOW That is a lot right now! Hope the surgery and recovery goes well! Two words HOME CARE (or is that available in your area?Hope so .I did it for years but when m hubby asked what I would do if he needed Diapers or personal hygiene assistance I said "visit you in the home!" Kidding of course we do for ours what we would do for no ther .Take care of yourself in this time as well please!
Sounds like you are going to be even more busy in the future! I'm sending you and the cowboy all the positive energy I can muster, my friend!
God bless and chin up...!
Luckily for you - I am here to help!
All that you have to do is this; When he has 'finished', you just take hold of him by the shoulders, lift him slightly, then shake him vigorously from side to side. That should do the trick! lol.
Oh Honey, we are in the same boat aren't we! The Husband was told he would need neck surgery at some point. He said the same thing your's did, NO, I'm not having anyone cut into my neck! Hope your cowboy does well with his procedures. I know what you mean about only being able to afford one at a time. Hugs to you. YOU will be in my prayers!
Oh no! Okay, here's an idea: have them do the left hand and the right knee and then once he's healed, do the other side! Or, failing that, spend $25 and get yourself a diaper sprayer - it attaches to your regular toilet to turn it into a bidet - albeit a very cold one!!
But seriously, I wish all the best to you both as they restore cowboy to his former glory!
Wow, poor guy, he's really broken. I hope he feels better soon. I don't blame you - I'd leave the sprinkler on too :)
Oh..you sound pretty tough, but I know that when push comes to shove you are going to have to help him out or he will get a sore butt and be really cranky! The bidet or some kind of a water sprayer sounds like an option..better than a sprinkler..LOL..
I hope he gets the surgery scheduled..before you work your butt off. Do you know how nice it is to come here and actually read something instead of just me leaving a message!! :):)
That's it? Sheesh... I thought you'd been busy or something...
So I guess the only question left is... what are you going to do with all of your free time? ;P
Well Howdy! I sure have missed you. I have never lost thought of you:) Poor Cowboy, I hope all goes well,he needs those hands! How is he supposed to hold you? he he Spinkler for sure! Darn doctors, sometimes they think its so easy to just have surgeries. Hey I have an ache lets head to the doctors... even if you have unsurance, it doesn't always work out. Seems the only one who benifits is the insurance companies.:( So happy to see you back. Now if I could just get my blog updated...((hugs)) love you my dear friend.
Woo hoo! You're back!
Sounds like you are going to be even more busy in the future

Sarah/Elliemae (whatever) here! Oh I'm so glad you're back! I'm back too! I recently updated my blog and changed the name and such...but there're new photo's of my baby Bird on there! So glad to hear Cowboy is getting mended!
No WONDER we hardly hear from you! Up to your ears in TWO many things! Cowboy and you are tough old birds and I hope he comes through restored enough to keep on keepin' on! And forget the sprinklers.....I'm thinkin' firehose.
We do what we have to do don't we? When my wife got a bad infection after stomach surgery I had to learn how to "repack" 4 inches deep. It was scared at first but did it....
Just checking in to see how things are going. Sure would like some news about how Cowboy is doing. Also, I'm waiting for pictures of those Border Collies you told me about :)
Kisses,
Emma Rose
