....Right????
~
I'm not talking about changing your underwear, although,
a person should seriously consider doing so on a regular basis!
~
I'm not talking about changing your name either,
I'm not talking about changing your name either,
though there could be advantages to doing so if you are
inclined to live a double life.
~
But Change...
But Change...
~
Change means pulling yourself out of the pit you have fallen into and exposing yourself to new ideas, new people,
Change means pulling yourself out of the pit you have fallen into and exposing yourself to new ideas, new people,
and new adventures!
~
Change will add new perspectives, new hopes,
Change will add new perspectives, new hopes,
and even new dreams!
~
Change is about setting yourself free of complacency
if one has fallen into that stagnant stage of life.
We have never enjoyed being complacent or stagnant.
Yet, somehow, we allowed ourselves to fall into that trap.
It has become our "accepted" pattern of living
We have never enjoyed being complacent or stagnant.
Yet, somehow, we allowed ourselves to fall into that trap.
It has become our "accepted" pattern of living
since the economic crisis hit last fall.
We have not been willing to step out of our
state of complacency ...
to even consider there might be a better way!
It became our safety net of sorts.
We avoided taking any risks (which is not normal for us!).
We simply accepted things the way they had become
and hunkered down for the impending storm!
Survival was our daily motto.
~
But not anymore!
~
But not anymore!
~
We began scrambling to free ourselves
We began scrambling to free ourselves
from the burdensome bind
that webbed itself around our existence.
Life became a twisted knotted mess.
We knew we had to set ourselves free,
become untangled...
...before strangulation took place!
We don’t seek riches and material things,
we only want to enjoy life…and to dance again !
~
~
I am elated to say...
We have found the dance floor once again…
We are eager to feel that gentle touch on our soles.
…One step at a time.
~

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning to dance in the rain.
(unknown)
~~
I have tossed the umbrella aside...
And I...
You...
...to this crazy dance called Life!
~
Don't waste anytime wiping your feet..
We do not know where this dance will take us,
but there is one thing we know for sure,
~
Dancing not only cleanses your SOLES...
but it also cleanses your SOUL!
Am I being vague? Not telling you what Change is to us?
That's part of the excitement of Change!
I reassure you, Cowboy will remain a Cowboy...
...and me?

Well, I'm very intrigued and excited, like something new is for me. I love that quote about the storm and the enthusiasm you seem to be feeling - good to see it
Sounds like something exciting is on the horizon. Are you going to elaborate???
There you are, I've been wondering about you. I'll be looking forward to hearing about these changes, sounds exciting. Change is usually a good thing, we just sometimes forget that.
Good for you! I love the dance in the rain quote.

Great post my friend. I look forward to the way you two take the "storm" by the horns, and decide just how your life will go.

I'm looking forward to hearing more, because to be honest, I've missed you, girl - So it's so good to hear that you might have a new lease on things!
One of my favorite quotes on change is:
“When you're finished changing, you're finished.”
Ben Franklin
I can't wait to hear what's happening.......! I miss you so much out here. I was so excited when blogger told me you were back. (Although I should never trust blogger for this type of info!)
I hope you dance.
Change? You're probably waiting until midnight. Right?
This post is the most upbeat, optimistic one I've read in a while W.O.W. Sounds like this change has brought your gumption back! I hope that whatever change you're emarking on, it brings you health, happiness and security!
To dream usually involves change,
to change is to live and grow! When one no longer dreams, changes and grows, one no longer lives!
Good for you ! I am constantly looking for new things to stimulate my life, excite me and help me grow! Dancing is out though as we both have bad knees.
However I was once a dancing fool who could do the Texas Two-Step with the best of EM !

Yay Barb! Change is so exciting! The prospect of what lies over the horizon is invigorating. Can't wait to hear what y'all have in mind. "A rolling stone gathers no moss." Roll on girl!
Good for you. Change is difficult for many to even think about....let alone accomplish.
Hey! Change is good but suspense is killing me! Do tell! I sure hope you aren't moving too far away, because we are moving fairly close to where you are now and I was hoping to visit you!
This was great. I so needed to read this. We have done the same thing, and I think it is time for a change.
Okay, don't leave me hanging!! What's up??? Are you moving? Did You get a job? What, what, what????
Change is always good. I had to step out of my comfort zone when I decided to apply for this job. That was a big step for me...but one I'm truly enjoying....=)
This is a quote that I like..."You have to be open to change to allow change to happen." I say your open and ready for change, but please, do tell what it is!
(((HUGS))) my friend.
Way to take the bull by the horns! Can't wait to hear what's up!
Well what in the world are you up to now..moving..staying..buying that store that was closed...but what ever it is I want you to dance and be happy..Cowboy watch the knees:)
Well all I can say is cowboys knee must be better , or are ya'll gonna dance with crutches?
Sounds like a happy dance , how-ever ya do it!
Great to have you back! We've been thinking about you a lot the last couple of days. In fact, the Duchess was going to send an email. (You know how sometimes a person comes to mind so often you start to think there's a REASON for it? That's what was happening.) So we are delighted to hear that things are looking up and you're putting on your dancing shoes! And how is H.O.W.'s knee doing? I hope he'll be dancing with you!
love,
Emma Rose

Thursday night as I was praying, i said a prayer that God would supply your needs and give you direction in which to go.....and look! I woke this morning to find you got it!!
That's SO cool!
Can't wait to hear what it is....come on now, don't toy with us.....much longer....please?????
Dance the night away!
I am so intrigued! I hate change- but reading your blog and anticipating your enthusiasm is inspirational! What gives?
What's happening? I must know!
Grabbing your hand and twirling you around! YAY! You're back - and you're tapping those twinkle toes. Can't wait to hear what you and your Cowboy are planning for the next amazing adventure, Barb.
What an uplifting and inspiring post. Can't wait to hear what's happening.
“Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadow.” – Helen Keller
I just thought you would want to know... Thanks to your reminder, I DID change my underwear!
It was your fault tho, after your comment on my Crisco post! PMSL!
Dear Barb,
Thanks for stopping by, it's good to hear from you! What are you guys up to? I hope you'll have some sunshine soon! Today is a rather cold and rainy day too but it's good for the trees and the grass ... Yep, the onions and beans are growing well. Potatoes are in the soil and, under glass, we're waiting for the seeds to come out. Take good care!
Love,
Karen
change is good thing especially for your opinions on people and how you look to life ..
try to look to everything you do from a different view and you will be surprised
♥Hugs barb♥
Change is good for the soul, me thinks.
Don't you change too much honey !!
Just thinking of you...
How about you have Mr Green Jeans (admittedly hunky) and I can have Sam? Fair?
Oh I am excited for you. I hope it is everything you dreamed of.
wow..sooo much to read...love what I've gotten through so far. I wanted to be a cowboys's wife right off...figured I'd talk my 19 year old boyfriend into being a bull dogger...he was big...all he had to do was fall off a horse, (good at that) onto a steer.
But, I wasn't as sweet talkin' as I thought...he remained a truckdriver and in one piece.
I've vacationed, and lived in ranch country...love to live remote...but time and circumstances fixed that. I'll be back to read more.
Ya want change? Don't let Obama give you any [in the form of two cents] Yep. Our existence is tuff-as-nails, don't let nobody fool ya; but, I have this to look forward to: meet me Upstairs in the Great Beyond for a celebration of our resurrection where we'll have a kick-ass party till well after sundown. God bless.
