Where's the song ~~ "Don't let your daughters grow up to marry a Cowboy" ?

Life is tough! Requires hard physical work, long, long days of pain, dirt, and broken fingernails.
Days of frigid cold & scorching heat; through the dust & mud; daybreak into the darkness of nite~~
the heart & body becomes toughened & weathered replicating leather!
A forever constant factor for a real Cowboy's Wife is tons of sweat, oceans of tears and a constant 'drought' in the wallet!

IF she wants to spend anytime at all with her Cowboy, she must do as he does, you become partners!

Kick off your boots, grab a cup of coffee, sit back and envision yourself in my life!
... It really isn't that bad! There are many rewards to be had to make it a great lifestyle! ...

Change is Good...

....Right????
~
I'm not talking about changing your underwear, although,
a person should seriously consider doing so on a regular basis!
~
I'm not talking about changing your name either,
though there could be advantages to doing so if you are
inclined to live a double life.
~
But Change...
~
Change means pulling yourself out of the pit you have fallen into and exposing yourself to new ideas, new people,
and new adventures!
~
Change will add new perspectives, new hopes,
and even new dreams!
~
Change is about setting yourself free of complacency
if one has fallen into that stagnant stage of life.
We have never enjoyed being complacent or stagnant.
Yet, somehow, we allowed ourselves to fall into that trap.
It has become our "accepted" pattern of living
since the economic crisis hit last fall.
We have not been willing to step out of our
state of complacency ...
to even consider there might be a better way!
It became our safety net of sorts.
We avoided taking any risks (which is not normal for us!).
We simply accepted things the way they had become
and hunkered down for the impending storm!
Survival was our daily motto.
~
But not anymore!
~
We began scrambling to free ourselves
from the burdensome bind
that webbed itself around our existence.
Life became a twisted knotted mess.
We knew we had to set ourselves free,
become untangled...
...before strangulation took place!
We don’t seek riches and material things,
we only want to enjoy life…and to dance again !
~

~

I am elated to say...

We have found the dance floor once again…
We are eager to feel that gentle touch on our soles.
…One step at a time.

~

~

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning to dance in the rain.

(unknown)

~~

I have tossed the umbrella aside...

And I...

You...

...to this crazy dance called Life!
~

Don't waste anytime wiping your feet..
We do not know where this dance will take us,
but there is one thing we know for sure,
~
Dancing not only cleanses your SOLES...
but it also cleanses your SOUL!

Am I being vague? Not telling you what Change is to us?
That's part of the excitement of Change!
I reassure you, Cowboy will remain a Cowboy...
...and me?
~
Always
will
be

This post is the most upbeat, optimistic one I've read in a while W.O.W. Sounds like this change has brought your gumption back! I hope that whatever change you're emarking on, it brings you health, happiness and security!

To dream usually involves change,
to change is to live and grow! When one no longer dreams, changes and grows, one no longer lives!
Good for you ! I am constantly looking for new things to stimulate my life, excite me and help me grow! Dancing is out though as we both have bad knees.
However I was once a dancing fool who could do the Texas Two-Step with the best of EM !

Hey! Change is good but suspense is killing me! Do tell! I sure hope you aren't moving too far away, because we are moving fairly close to where you are now and I was hoping to visit you!

Okay, don't leave me hanging!! What's up??? Are you moving? Did You get a job? What, what, what????

Change is always good. I had to step out of my comfort zone when I decided to apply for this job. That was a big step for me...but one I'm truly enjoying....=)

This is a quote that I like..."You have to be open to change to allow change to happen." I say your open and ready for change, but please, do tell what it is!

Great to have you back! We've been thinking about you a lot the last couple of days. In fact, the Duchess was going to send an email. (You know how sometimes a person comes to mind so often you start to think there's a REASON for it? That's what was happening.) So we are delighted to hear that things are looking up and you're putting on your dancing shoes! And how is H.O.W.'s knee doing? I hope he'll be dancing with you!

love,
Emma Rose

Dear Barb,

Thanks for stopping by, it's good to hear from you! What are you guys up to? I hope you'll have some sunshine soon! Today is a rather cold and rainy day too but it's good for the trees and the grass ... Yep, the onions and beans are growing well. Potatoes are in the soil and, under glass, we're waiting for the seeds to come out. Take good care!
Love,
Karen

wow..sooo much to read...love what I've gotten through so far. I wanted to be a cowboys's wife right off...figured I'd talk my 19 year old boyfriend into being a bull dogger...he was big...all he had to do was fall off a horse, (good at that) onto a steer.
But, I wasn't as sweet talkin' as I thought...he remained a truckdriver and in one piece.
I've vacationed, and lived in ranch country...love to live remote...but time and circumstances fixed that. I'll be back to read more.

Ya want change? Don't let Obama give you any [in the form of two cents] Yep. Our existence is tuff-as-nails, don't let nobody fool ya; but, I have this to look forward to: meet me Upstairs in the Great Beyond for a celebration of our resurrection where we'll have a kick-ass party till well after sundown. God bless.
