Where's the song ~~ "Don't let your daughters grow up to marry a Cowboy" ?

Life is tough! Requires hard physical work, long, long days of pain, dirt, and broken fingernails.
Days of frigid cold & scorching heat; through the dust & mud; daybreak into the darkness of nite~~
the heart & body becomes toughened & weathered replicating leather!
A forever constant factor for a real Cowboy's Wife is tons of sweat, oceans of tears and a constant 'drought' in the wallet!

IF she wants to spend anytime at all with her Cowboy, she must do as he does, you become partners!

Kick off your boots, grab a cup of coffee, sit back and envision yourself in my life!
... It really isn't that bad! There are many rewards to be had to make it a great lifestyle! ...

"Daffodils"
William Wordsworth(1804)

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
~
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
~
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee;
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company!
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
~
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

You creative chicky!
I love the 2nd & 3rd songs! (See me grooving in my chair?)

That WW poem is the first poem (not counting nursery rhymes) that I was required to memorize in school. To this day, I still love it and ...well, the rest is too long to post.

Lucky, lucky, lucky you!! Nothing is peeping through the ground here and I mean nothing! I would be happy to see a weed at this point.

The cows and heifers that we are housing for a neighboring rancher are starting to calve...so surely that is a sign of spring!!

It can't get here soon enough for me....but we really, really, really need more rain in our area. No snow..more rain please.

Take care my friend and give us updates on those lovely daffodils....=) I love the poem as well....William Wordsworth can make the simpliest things come alive in the minds eye.

I felt your excitement at the new life exploding from a long dormant soil.
May love and beauty fill your life through these daffodils.

My favorite Wordsworth poem! Know it by heart. Spring is showing signs around here as well. My daff's are about to bloom, and the spring peepers are singing. Well, were singing, then it got chilly again. But they'll be back soon. Next week promises to be warmer again.

Enjoyed the post, Barb. Happy weekend!

Hugs!

*banging head against desk* PLEASE dont do this to me.... I have cabin fever so bad that my nails are now bloody stumps. I have chewed my leg off at the knee because I was imagining a chain around my leg keeping me in this blessed house for another month,.... We got 6 inches of snow the day before yesterday and 2 more last night.....

I came over here from Gutsy Writer's blog. My blog is titled "Dancing with the Daffodils". My 102 year old grandmother planted a love of poetry in me. That's one of our favorites.
